What is In-Hand Salary (Take-Home Pay) in Pakistan?
In-hand salary is the actual net cash amount transferred to your bank account after subtracting statutory deductions from your gross package. In Pakistan, deductions include FBR Income Tax Withholding (TDS under Section 149), Employee EOBI contribution (PKR 370/month), and Employee Provident Fund (PF).
What are the latest FBR Tax Slabs for 2024-2025 / 2025-2026?
Under the latest Finance Act for salaried individuals: Annual salary up to PKR 600,000 is 0% tax (PKR 50k/mo). Between 600k and 1.2M is 5% of excess. Between 1.2M and 2.2M is PKR 30,000 + 15%. Between 2.2M and 3.2M is PKR 180,000 + 25%. Between 3.2M and 4.1M is PKR 430,000 + 30%. Above 4.1M is PKR 700,000 + 35%. A 10% super-surcharge applies if taxable income exceeds PKR 10 Million.
How does Medical Allowance tax exemption work in Pakistan?
Under Clause (139) of Part I of the Second Schedule to the Income Tax Ordinance 2001, Medical Allowance received by an employee is exempt from income tax up to 10% of their Basic Salary, provided free medical treatment or hospitalization is not provided by the employer.
